“Creativity is contagious, pass it on”, said the great Albert Einstein. At Henfield Art Club we couldn’t agree more! Founded in 1982, HAC has been offering opportunities for artists of all abilities to get together and enjoy themselves. We meet regularly to practice painting and sketching at our Painting-In sessions and have a Programme of monthly Demonstrations from professional artists. Painting-Out journeys into the countryside in the summer to paint ‘en plein air’, adds to the creative adventure. A Christmas Party rounds off the year, so as you can see we have a busy schedule.

We all work in different media – watercolour, oils, acrylics, pencils, pastels as well as sculpture, wood-turning and fused glass. We have a good stock of practical DVDs and how-to-do books which can be rented for a modest fee. Examples of members’ work can be seen in the Committee Room, which is refreshed quarterly, or click on Artists Gallery page.

We hold our Annual Exhibition at the end of October in the Henfield Hall, where we display work produced during the year. We also participate in the Henfield Festival Of Gardens & Art in June.

We meet in the Garden Room, The Henfield Hall, Coopers Way, Henfield BN5 9DB. New members are always welcome – whether you are just starting out or are already a seasoned artist – just come along as a visitor to one of our Tuesday evening demonstrations (£4) and see what it’s like, or alternatively details are on the Contact page. Please note that we don’t provide art classes, but as many of our members attend classes locally, there will be no shortage of recommendations.

We look forward to meeting you.
