‘Creativity is contagious, pass it on’, said the great Albert Einstein and at Henfield Art Club we couldn’t agree more! Founded in 1982, HAC has been offering opportunities for artists of all abilities to get together and enjoy themselves. We meet regularly to practice painting and sketching at our painting-in sessions and have a Programme of monthly demonstrations from professional artists. Journeys into the countryside in the summer to paint en plein air, adds to the creative adventure.
We all work in different media – watercolour, oils, acrylics, pencils, pastels as well as sculpture and wood-turning. We have a good stock of practical DVDs and how-to-do books which can be rented for a modest fee. Examples of members’ work can be seen in the Committee Room, which is refreshed quarterly, or click on Gallery.
At the end of October we mount our Annual Exhibition in the Henfield Hall which you may have seen, where we display the work we have produced during the year. We also participate in the Henfield Festival of Gardens & Art in June. A Christmas party rounds off the bill so as you can see we are busy all year round.
We meet in the Garden Room, The Henfield Hall, Coopers Way, Henfield BN5 9DB, so if you would like to join us please come along as a visitor (£3) to one of our Tuesday evening demonstrations and see what it’s like. New members are very welcome – whether you are just starting out or are already a seasoned artist. Please note that we don’t provide art classes, but as many of our Members attend classes locally, there will be no shortage of recommendations.
We look forward to meeting you.
